I’m a bit ashamed of myself, really… I meant to take –much- longer working out all the kinks and detailing in this. But it keeps distracting me from my school work, so I simply needed to be finished with it.
This took roughly three weeks, some enormous portion of hours. It was for a friend’s challenge, which was:
Draw Tales of the Abyss characters in the Style of Square Enix’s Final Fantasy: Advent Children.
Oh my.
So, Jade came first, than Dist was added because I couldn’t decide what I wanted in the background, and a lurking mad scientist seemed just the thing. Which was followed by an odd idea about inserting Guy and Asch as a kind of duality to Dist and Jade’s situation… [Warning: Mild Spoilers] I find it intensely interesting that both pairs of ‘childhood friends’ end up as such bitter enemies who, really, still share an indelible fondness for one another. Er- and who all… change their names by the age of 15…? (Hence why, for those who haven’t played ToA, you may not recognize the character names up there).
I don’t blame Saphir for the name change; ‘Wyon Nies’ makes my last name sound precious by comparison. And ‘Gailardia Galan Gardios?’ …Goodness Gracious, G’s Galore!
Anyway, my thanks to for giving me advice on this. It’s probably the first photoshop piece that I really took my time on, and am happy with.
Nonetheless, I will tweak this when essays are done with.
As always, thank you for –every- comment, and my apologies if I can’t get back to you for a while. I know I still haven’t responded to all of the comments on my more recent works, but I’ve read them all, and I will reply. ^_^ Also after essays are done with… ::Head Desk.::
FULL VIEW. It's... huge. Heh?
Note: De-colorized version is to show what it would look like in a more brooding 'Advent Children' style. But I love bright colours, hence... I couldn't just put in the emo version. Textures on clothing with thanks to ca_pris @ LJ.
Thank you for the comment. I agree, I do believe they're a bit off as well, it's certainly something I should look into fixing. However, I wasn't going for a realism style here. ^_^
